In exploring 360 photo and video recording, I have started a channel to share my biking experience in a new way, through VR.
The current best technology I can find that is portable for a bike ride is insta360 X3 which records 5.7k resolution at 30 fps. Most of current bike ride video are flat chest mounted 180 view. Sharing my rides with family in 360 through VR is immersive and allow viewer to look around the environment.
Below are two videos of from one of my rides at Pacifica. If you have a VR headset, go to YouTube VR and give it a try. You can still see VR video by click and drag in the video to look around, also see flat version where I direct your view. Check out my channel (link above) for more bike rides around the Bay Area.
