7 Bounces

An AR physics puzzle in your own backyard. Set the force, pick a planet's gravity, and bounce the ball into the crate exactly the right number of times.

Reconstructed from the demo videos. Bill's own account, and whether it is still listed, still to come.

The Curiosity

Augmented reality kept being used to put furniture in rooms. What if it put physics in them instead?

02

The Build

Built with Niantic Lightship for its AR template competition in 2022, then finished for the Google and Apple stores that autumn. Levels are anchored to whatever surface you are standing on. You set a launch force, choose a gravity (Earth's 9.807 m/s² is only the default), and try to land the ball in the crate after the required number of bounces. Seven levels, seven bounces.

The Result

The first thing the workshop shipped to an app store, and the reason the GS mark exists in three dimensions: the app icon is the same shape.
